In this blog, we will explore colour insights from four popular manufacturers —Lick, Pantone, WGSN, and Benjamin Moore—and recommend our top furniture choices that complement these colours without limiting your design options.

Key Colours and Their Influence on Design

Lick’s 2025 Colour Palette

Lick’s 2025 Colour Palette

New Nostalgia is Lick’s 2025 colour palette of the year, blending contemporary twists with cosy, comforting hues that evoke a sentimental yearning from the past.

This palette features colours reminiscent of the 1970s, including earthy brown, burnt orange, brownish red, and plum purple.

These colours are perfect for creating spaces that tell a story, reflecting lives lived and cosy memories cherished. In office design, these hues can transform workspaces into inviting environments that inspire productivity and relaxation.

Tash Bradley, Director of Interior Design and Colour Psychologist, states:

“The powerful connection between colour and memory is at the heart of Lick’s 2025 Colour Palette. We’ve reimagined these nostalgic colours for modern interiors, creating a palette that’s both emotionally resonant and surprisingly contemporary.”

The Pantone Colour of 2025

The Pantone Colour of 2025

For 2025, the Pantone Color Institute has selected PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, a rich, warming brown hue inspired by the indulgent qualities of chocolate and coffee. This versatile shade creates a strong chromatic foundation, making it ideal for minimalist or richly decorated interiors.

They also created five unique palettes that perfectly combine with the Mocha Mousse.

In furniture and workspace design, Mocha Mousse works beautifully as a grounding element. Use it for statement desks or seating, paired with lighter neutrals for contrast or deeper hues for drama.

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, describes the colour as:

“Underpinned by our desire for every day pleasures, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.”
